We are set for a great finale!

The stage is set for an exciting Championship Game at the 2011 Junior Softball World Series.

Two outstanding teams — the U.S. Central team from Croswell Lexington Little League in Croswell, Mich.,  and the U.S. Southeast squad from Palma Ceia/West Tampa Little League of Tampa, Fla., will face off in the 2 p.m. PDT title game. Central won the coin toss and will be the home team.

Here’s how you can follow all the action:

  • If you’re in western Washington, come on out to Everest Park in Kirkland and enjoy the softball and the sunshine (the forecast is for 82 degrees and sunshine).
  • Watch live on ESPN2.

Semifinal pairings set for Friday!

It will be an all-U.S. semifinal round in the 2011 Junior Softball World Series.

Central (Croswell Lexington Little League of Croswell, Mich.), undefeated in Pool A play, will take on the East (West Point Little League of Greensburg, Pa.) at 5 p.m. on Everest Park Field A.

Southwest (Bridge City Little League of Bridge City, Texas), first place finisher in Pool B, will face the Southeast team from Palma Ceia/West Tampa Little League of Tampa, Fla., in the other semifinal. That game will start at 4:45 p.m. on Field B.

If you can’t be at Everest Park for these exciting games you can follow the action via Game Live on Pointstreak. We’ll also keep you updated as the games progress here as well as on Facebook and Twitter.

The semifinal winners will meet in Saturday’s Championship Game at 2 p.m. PDT. That game will be televised on ESPN2 and can also be seen online at ESPN3.com (check with your Internet provider for availability).

Central 6, Host 4

August 18, 2011

The Central team from Croswell Lexington Little League in Croswell, Mich., exploded for five runs in the seventh inning today en route to a 6-4 win over the Host team from Bellevue/Mercer Island, Wash.

Kylee Barrett drove in three runs and was the winning pitcher for Central, which finished 4-0 in pool play and will be a top seed in tomorrow’s semifinals.

The final game of pool play is still ongoing, with Southwest leading EMEA, 5-0.
