Championship Game Matchup

Saturday’s Championship Game of the Junior League Softball World Series will pit two teams from the northwest corner of North America: the Canadian team from Layritz Little League of Victoria, B.C. facing the U.S. West team from Nunaka Little League of Anchorage, Alaska.

Game time is 2 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) at beautiful Everest Park in Kirkland, Wash. It will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and online on ESPN3.com (check for availability with your Internet provider).

Canada advanced by defeating a tough Latin America team from Maunabo, Puerto Rico, 5-2, in the semifinals. West pulled away from a scrappy Host team from Kirkland American/National Little League, 9-2, in Friday’s other semifinal.

Saturday’s weather should be ideal at game time: around 80 degrees with a few clouds and a very small chance of rain. If you’re in the western Washington area you’re going to want to be at Everest Park for all the excitement that television just can’t capture.

We look forward to a packed crowd for what’s sure to be an exciting championship.
